This Privacy Policy explains how MatchBrain ("MatchBrain", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects your information when you use the MatchBrain mobile application (the "App") and related services. MatchBrain is operated by Sajin Philip, an independent software publisher. MatchBrain is a free football match-prediction game. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
MatchBrain is a free-to-play prediction game. All points and rankings are virtual and have no monetary value, and there are no in-app purchases or cash prizes.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information you provide
Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address, name (or the private relay email Apple may provide), and a unique account identifier from that provider. We use this to create and secure your account.
Profile information. A nickname you choose and an avatar you select. You may also choose to use the App without an account via "Browse as Guest", in which case no personal account data is collected.
Predictions and game activity. The match predictions you submit — your answers to the five prediction questions per match (match result, first scorer, total goals, red card, and both teams to score) and your tournament-outcome predictions — along with the points you earn and your participation status.
Leagues. Private leagues you create or join, including league names, league join codes, and your membership and points within those leagues.
1.2 Information collected automatically
Crash and diagnostic data. Through Firebase Crashlytics, we collect crash reports and diagnostic information such as device model, operating system version, app version, and the state of the app at the time of a crash. This helps us fix bugs and improve stability.
Technical and security logs. Our backend provider (Supabase) may process technical information such as IP address and timestamps as part of authentication, security, and abuse prevention.
Advertising and attribution data. We use the Meta (Facebook) SDK to measure which of our ad campaigns led to your app download. On iOS, this only happens if you grant permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; you can change your choice at any time in your device's Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. On Android, a device advertising ID (GAID) is used for the same purpose. This data is used solely to measure our own ad performance — not to track your activity in other companies' apps or websites.
1.3 Information we do NOT collect
We do not use in-app analytics or behavior-tracking tools — the only tracking-related data we collect is the ad-attribution data described above, and only to measure whether an ad led to your download.
We do not collect payment or financial information. MatchBrain is free and contains no in-app purchases.
We do not collect your precise or background location.
We do not access your contacts, photos, microphone, or camera.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not display third-party ads within the App.

3. Information Visible to Other Users
Because MatchBrain is a social prediction game, some information is visible to other users:
Your nickname, avatar, total points, and global rank are visible to all users on the global leaderboard — including people using the App as guests.
League members may also see your nickname, avatar, points, rankings, and league participation status within any league you join.
After a match kicks off, your predictions for that match may be visible to other members of leagues you belong to. Predictions are not visible before a match kicks off.
Your email address and account identifiers are never shown to other users.
4. How We Share Information
We share information only with service providers that help us operate the App. We do not sell your data. These providers act as our processors and are bound to protect your information:
Provider
Purpose
Supabase
Backend database, authentication, and hosting (stores your account, profile, predictions, and leagues)
Google (Google Sign-In, Firebase Crashlytics)
Authentication and crash/diagnostic reporting
Apple (Sign in with Apple)
Authentication
Meta (Facebook)
Ad attribution — measuring which Meta ad campaigns led to app installs, governed by your App Tracking Transparency choice on iOS
We also use API-Sports as a source of football fixtures, scores, and team data. This data flows into the App; we do not send your personal information to API-Sports.
We may disclose information if required by law, to comply with legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and service.
5. Legal Bases (for users in the EEA/UK)
Where the GDPR applies, we process your information on the following bases: performance of a contract (to provide the App and its features), legitimate interests (to secure, maintain, and improve the App), and consent (where required, which you may withdraw at any time).
6. Data Retention
We retain your account and game data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data, except where we must retain limited information to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes. Crash and diagnostic data is retained on a rolling basis by Firebase Crashlytics.
7. Your Rights and Choices
Account deletion. You can request deletion of your account and associated data (profile, predictions, and league memberships) at any time by contacting us at hello@getmatchbrain.com. In-app account deletion is also available from your Profile screen. We action deletion requests promptly.
Access and correction. You may request a copy of your personal data or ask us to correct it.
Withdraw consent / object. Where processing is based on consent or legitimate interests, you may withdraw consent or object.
Depending on your location (e.g., EEA, UK, California), you may have additional rights under the GDPR or CCPA. To exercise any right, contact us using the details below.
8. Security
We protect your data using industry-standard measures, including encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and row-level security on our database that restricts each user's data to that user. While we work hard to protect your information, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
9. Children's Privacy
MatchBrain is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
10. International Data Transfers
Your information may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence. Where we transfer data internationally, we take steps to ensure it is protected in accordance with this policy and applicable law.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Significant changes may be communicated in the App.
